This place is a gem, for many reasons. First, the food is great. I have been getting my breakfast here for YEARS! I work at the hospital nearby and we have also ordered their food for catering. Great sandwiches, salads. The breakfast bagels are always toasted and buttered perfectly, muffins delicious, GREAT coffee. Second – the staff! They really make the place so wonderful. Adrian, Victor, Pedro, Peter, Jocelyn, all of them! They are so friendly, so warm, so funny, such hard workers, truly the place would not be the same without them. If only there was more space to sit and eat! It’s really one of the best in the neighborhood. A must especially if you are up there visiting Mount Sinai.

They have great coffee, smoothies and even better paninis. I’ve been to Champignon many, many times and it is a positive experience each time. Oh and there smoked turkey sandwich with brie and apples is really fucking good. Smoothies a little expensive, but typical of NYC.

My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place after learning that our first choice for breakfast was closed…but boy were we glad we did!! Champignon was simple yet charming. A cozy and delicious find, indeed.
